cpu
hi, i'm looking to buy a laptop and i found 2 laptops, they have the same price but one is better then the other one only not the cpu
1: Aspire 7730 (everything is better or the same)
Intel® Core™2 Duo processor Penryn 7350 (2.0GHz/FSB:1066MHz/3MB L2 cache)
2: Acer Aspire 5920G-604G32Mi
2,2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo-processor T7500
it seems like the second one is has a better cpu but the guy in the store told me that the penryn 7350(2.0ghz) is equivalent to a normal 2.6 ghz dual core and my question is, is the true?
to make it short what is best? - Intel® Core™2 Duo processor Penryn 7350 (2.0GHz/FSB:1066MHz/3MB L2 cache)
- 2,2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo-processor T7500

the first CPU uses a 45nm process and therefore more efficient (meaning better battery life). it does not make it faster than the second one though.
the CPU makes very little difference these days. you might want to post the entire specs of both laptops so we can give you a better answer.

the 5920 has the more powerful processor, however the 7730 is more energy efficient.
the 7730 has a larger display with higher resolution.
the 5920 has a geforce 9500M GS graphics card, which will allow it to play some older games easily. with the 7730, you'll have the choice of the 9600M GT, the 9300M GS, and the intel GMA X4500. the 9600M GT is better than the 9500M GS.
the 7730 uses a centrino 2 platform. the 5920 is centrino 1.
it basically boils down to whether you want a 15" or 17" laptop. if you go with the 7730, be sure to get the 9600M GT graphics card.

I personally reccomend the 7730 of those two, esp. with the 9600 GPU.
However, I personally think that Acer produces inferior products and I would not buy one myself. IBM, Sony, Dell, HP in that order.... unless you go custom
